Who we are
Gaming Events and Fun Casino Events (“we”) provide mobile fun casino entertainment for corporate and private
events in South Africa. We operate the websites gamingevents.co.za and funcasino.co.za.
For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), the responsible party is
Fun Casino (Pty) Ltd, 12 St George’s Road, Green Point, Cape Town, 8005, South Africa. Our Information Officer is Jaco Celliers, who can be reached at
info@gamingevents.co.za or 072 615 8659.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what
your rights are. It applies to both websites, our Google ads and enquiry forms, WhatsApp, phone and email.
What information we collect
Information you give us when you ask for a quote or book an event:
- your name, phone/WhatsApp number and email address;
- event details: type of event, date, number of guests, venue or suburb, and anything else you tell us;
- for bookings: the name of the person or company paying, billing details and, if applicable, a VAT number;
- anything you send us by WhatsApp, phone, email or social media.
Google lead forms. Some of our Google ads include a form that you complete on Google without
visiting our website. Google sends us the details you enter there (usually your name, phone number and email
address) so we can reply to your enquiry.
Information collected automatically when you use our websites: pages visited, the ad or link that
brought you here (for example a Google click ID or campaign tag), device and browser type, approximate location and
IP address. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies. See “Cookies and advertising” below.
We do not ask for special personal information (such as health, religion or biometric information), and we
don’t need your ID number for a quote.
Why we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a quote: this is the step you asked us to take.
- To plan and deliver your event (tables, croupiers, set-up times, venue access) and to invoice and
take payment: this is needed to carry out our agreement with you. - To keep records required by law, for example for tax and accounting.
- To follow up on a quote you asked for and, if you are a client or have agreed to it, to let you know
about our services from time to time. Every marketing message gives you a simple way to opt out. - To measure and improve our advertising and websites, for example to see which ads lead to enquiries.
This is in our legitimate interest, and you can control it with your cookie and Google ad settings.
We never sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We only share what is needed, with service providers (operators) who process information on our behalf and under
our instructions:
- GoHighLevel: our customer database, which stores enquiries and sends replies and reminders;
- Google: email (Google Workspace), Google Ads (including Google lead forms) and Google Analytics;
- WhatsApp (Meta): if you contact us on WhatsApp;
- our website hosts and website software providers;
- payment providers, if you pay online;
- our own team (casino manager and croupiers) and, where needed, the venue, for your event only.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
Information sent outside South Africa
Some of our service providers (such as GoHighLevel, Google and Meta) store information on servers outside South
Africa, including in the United States. We only use providers that are bound by data protection laws, binding
agreements or rules that give a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
Cookies and advertising
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies from Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads) to understand how
the site is used and to measure which ads lead to enquiries. Google may use this to show you our ads on other
websites (remarketing).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage personalised ads at
adssettings.google.com. Blocking cookies won’t stop
the websites or the enquiry forms from working.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become bookings: up to 2 years after our last contact, then deleted.
- Bookings, invoices and payment records: at least 5 years, as tax law requires.
- Marketing preferences: if you opt out, we keep a note of that so we don’t contact you again.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, including password-protected
systems, access limited to people who need it, and service providers
with strong security. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Information
Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, out of date or no longer needed;
- object to us using your information, including for direct marketing (you can opt out at any time);
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
(inforegulator.org.za).
To make a request, email info@gamingevents.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we
will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our services are booked by adults. Schools, parents or organisers may book events where children are present,
but we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children through our websites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
